New ‘Recyled Clothing’ Consignment Store Opens In Downtown Benicia
A stylish new women’s consignment clothing store opened in Benicia earlier this week, at the corner of First and H Streets.
re: store is the new boutique’s name and it’s more than just a catchy play on words.
The store was founded on the principle of recycling (even the walls are ‘green’). And it’s not just the clothing and footwear that’s “recycled.” Even the store’s clothing racks, fixtures, dressing room and check-out counter are all recycled remnants from other retail stores, in keeping with the store’s Green mantra.
Their mission, according to their web site is “to give women a great place to shop for fashion at amazing prices, to reduce the burden on the earth by recycling (not to mention the burden of unused stuff cluttering our homes), and to serve the community by generating cash for local charities.”
re: store is located at 101-D East H St. and is open Wed. thru Sat. from 11-5 and Sundays from 12-5. Their phone number is 707-751-0503.
As a consignment store, they of course welcome shoppers as well as those looking to find a new home for their own gently used clothing.
The store is owned and operated by Denise Herman and Goldie Seidman. This is their second business venture together. (If Denise’s last name sounds strikingly familiar, yes, she’s my sister-in-law.)
So if you’re looking to help save the environment and look stylish all at the same time, be sure to check out re:store.
