Weekly Solano Home Inventory & Sales Report For The Week Ending Mar. 16, 2009

If you’ve been following the number of homes on the market as well as the number of sold and newly pending sales here on HomeSection.com each 
week, this week’s report may sound like a broken record, for it’s very similar to what you’ve been reading for the past 10 weeks.
That’s because the cities in Solano County with the highest number of distress-sale properties continue see strong sales and decreased inventory, in stark contrast to higher-priced Benicia.
Fairfield, Vallejo and Suisun City all posted double-digit decreases in their listing supply this past week, while Benicia’s inventory stayed largely the same.
Meanwhile, Vacaville, which has seen its inventory decrease by more than 16% since the first of the year, was up slightly for the second straight week.
Some more highlights from this past week:
- Vallejo (39) and Fairfield (34) were 1-2 in sales for the week.
- Vallejo (60) and Fairfield (39) were also 1-2 in the number of pending sales this past week.
- Fairfield saw the greatest drop in inventory, as there are 40 fewer homes this Monday than a week ago.
- Suisun City saw its inventory drop by 11% from a week ago. Since early January, Suisun’s inventory has dropped by almost 40%.
- Benicia’s inventory (109) continues to bounce around near the same level it’s been all year. Since Jan. 5, it’s hovered mostly between 104-110.
- Vacaville (+5) was the only city last week with an increase in its housing supply, but it had strong sales (15) and pending (20) numbers.
