Solano Home Sales & Listings Report For The Week Ending Apr. 20
April 23rd, 2009 categories: Benicia, Buying, Fairfield-Gr Valley, Market Update, Selling, Suisun City, Vacaville, Vallejo
With each successive week, the story remains pretty much the same — more sales and even fewer homes to choose from throughout most of Solano County.
Last week was no exception, especially in Vallejo, Fairfield, Vacaville and Suisun City. Only Benicia saw an increase in its inventory. The other four cities all saw their housing supplies continue to drop.
In raw numbers, Vallejo led the way with 52 fewer homes to choose from this week than a week ago. That’s a drop of 9.8% in just one week. Since early January, Vallejo’s total inventory of homes has fallen by 45.6% — from 878 to 478.
Among this week’s other highlights:
- Suisun City had the greatest drop in terms of percentage, with 14% fewer homes on the market this week than the week before. For the first time all year, there are now fewer than 100 homes on the market in Suisun — a 59% drop from January’s high of 240.
- Fairfield-Green Valley lost 32 homes off its inventory in the past week and Vacaville lost 31. That translates to a 46.6% and 35.1% drop respectively since early January
- Benicia, which saw its inventory drop by 8 homes the previous week, actually saw its supply grow by 5 homes this past week. Its inventory remains almost where it was at the beginning of the year.
- For the week, Vallejo again took honors for the most pending and closed sales, with 65 and 49 respectively. Right behind Vallejo was Fairfield (53/33) and Vacaville (27/19).
