Solano Home Sales & Listings Report For The Week Ending May 4
May 4th, 2009 categories: Benicia, Buying, Fairfield-Gr Valley, Market Update, Selling, Solano, Suisun City, Vacaville, Vallejo
Week after week, the numbers continue to fall. And this week was no exception, as every city in our Solano County market saw its inventory drop and its pending and closed sales figures rise.
Even Benicia got into the act this week, with a 6.9% drop in its housing supply (only the second time since the first of the year that Benicia’s inventory is under 100).
But the biggest numbers were again in Vallejo, Fairfield and Suisun — cities where housing inventories have plummeted and sales have skyrocketed. All three cities have less than half the number of active listings today than they had in early January.
Some highlights from this week’s report:
- Vallejo now has only 419 listings, compared to 803 on Jan. 12.
- Vallejo also had 49 closed sales last week and another 57 homes went ‘pending.’
- Suisun City has seen the greatest percentage drop in its housing supply. Since Jan. 5, its inventory has fallen 63%.
- Suisun has 83 single family home listings today, compared to 229 in early January.
- Vacaville’s listing inventory seems to have leveled off, with just modest declines the past two weeks.
- Nevertheless, Vacaville’s sales activity has remained strong. There were 18 pending sales and 17 closed sales last week alone.
- Fairfield’s housing inventory is down 53% since the beginning of January. There are 28 fewer homes on the market than a week ago.
