Vallejo’s New Playground — All Finished & Ready For The Kids!

If you’ve been reading along the past six days, you’ve watched the progress of Vallejo’s amazing new children’s playground, which went from start to finish in just five days, thanks to an amazing group of energetic volunteers.
Construction started last Wednesday (April 29) and wrapped up yesterday (May 3).

When I stopped by this morning, the only people there were a few city officials, who were inspecting the workmanship and making sure it was fit for the local children to start playing on it.
The quiet that surrounded the park today was almost eerie. It was certainly a far cry from all the noise and energy that had enveloped the park over the previous five days.
According to what one of the workers told me, the park will be ‘open for business’ tomorrow.
I plan to take my two-year-old grandson there in the next few days so he can try it out. He accompanied me when I stopped by to take pictures a few times last week, but hasn’t seen it since it was just a myriad of lumber, post-holes and scattered pieces of equipment.
Below is a collage of photos I took earlier today. As you can see, the new playground is nothing short of incredible with all sorts of whimsical, fantasy-like elements — all of which should stir the imagination of many a child for decades to come.
