Real Estate Honors, Designations and Specialized Advanced Training
For most real estate agents, continuing education is more or less a necessary evil — something you HAVE to do to keep your real estate license active. But beyond those mandatory classes, most agents shy away from any elective advanced training courses like they’re the plague.
We’ve always taken a far different approach. We’re always trying to improve our knowledge and real estate marksmanship by taking specialized training and or advanced real estate classes. By doing so, it helps us stay abreast of new laws, cutting-edge technologies, and emerging strategies for buying and selling. What’s more, in the end, the people it helps most are our clients, who get the benefit of this advanced knowledge, expertise and cutting-edge guidance.
In addition to the special designations and awards below, between them, Rod & Jamie have also taken special advanced training in the following programs:
- Advanced 1031 Exchange Concepts
- Distressed Properties (Short Sales, Foreclosures and Lender REOs)
- At Home With Diversity Training Program
- Property Disclosure & Risk Management
Some Of Our Designations & Honors
Coldwell Banker Sales Awards
As Vice Presidents/Senior Sales Counselors for Coldwell Banker Solano Pacific, over the years, Rod & Jamie have qualified for some of the highest honors that can be bestowed on an agent by Coldwell Banker, including the prestigious International President’s Circle and International Diamond Society awards. Over the years, Rod & Jamie have consistently been among the most respected and successful agents not only with Coldwell Banker but in their entire market area.
Previews Specialist
This Coldwell Banker designation is reserved for agents who have demonstrated skill and proficiency in representing buyers and sellers in the luxury property market. To qualify, an agent must have closed a certain number of transactions in the Top 10 Percent Price Range for their market area and also must take advanced training that’s designed to ensure that Previews agents are attuned to the special needs of luxury home buyers and sellers.
E-Pro 500
Back in 2000, The National Association of Realtors recognized the need for real estate agents to become more technologically proficient and to embrace the new technologies that were rapidly emerging.
The designation was promoted heavily to Realtors nationwide, yet only a small handful of agents saw the need to prepare themselves for the “E-World” that was about to descend upon us.
Rod earned the E-PRO 500 designation, signifying that he was one of the first 500 agents nationally to earn the designation. He was also the first E-PRO designee in Solano County and one of but a handful of Bay Area agents to earn the E-PRO designation when the training program first launched. Despite the rapid advancements in technology in the nine years since the E-PRO designation was created, as of Dec. 2008, less than 30 agents in Solano County had earned the E-PRO designation. Rod has always been one of the industry’s most technologically-oriented agents — and one who many of his real estate colleagues come to for technology-oriented assistance, so it’s no surprise that he was one of the first 500 in the U.S. — and the first in Solano County — to receive this designation.
C.A.R.E.S.
C.A.R.E.S stands for Certified Affordable Real Estate Specialist and is an
intensive training program designed to help agents become more familiar with the many ways of helping first-time buyers get into their first home, with emphasis on the various loan programs, grants, and community assistance programs that can help those who many otherwise be unable to afford a home the opportunity to own the American Dream. Those with the C.A.R.E.S designation periodically get together for updates on new programs and first-time buyer opportunities. Only a handful of the agents in our marketplace have taken the time and effort to qualify for the C.A.R.E.S. designation.
Certified Residential Marketing Specialist
This Coldwell Banker designation was awarded back in the mid-1990s to agents who took special advanced training in working with relocation clients who were moving due a corporate transfer. Buyers and sellers moving because of a job transfer often need to move quickly and must have the confidence that their agent is attuned to their unique needs and time frames and that he or she is well-versed in structuring real estate transactions that conform to the guidelines of a corporate relocation package.
Certified Corporate Property Specialist
This Coldwell Banker designation was also awarded back in the mid-1990s and complemented the CRMS designation by providing advanced training for agents representing sellers who were moving due to a job transfer. Selling corporate-assisted sellers or corporate-owned properties requires knowledge and a thorough understanding of the requirements and policies that must be followed when marketing and selling such properties.
Seniors Real Estate Specialist
Seniors in our society often have special needs and concerns, particularly when it comes to real estate. Agents who take this advanced program are trained in recognizing these needs and providing an array of services and assistance that address the unique needs of seniors looking to buy or sell in today’s marketplace.
Notary Public
Jamie has been a Notary Public for many years and can notarize most real estate documents as an added service and convenience for our clients. She is also available to notarize non-real estate documents for our current and past clients on an as-available basis.
Certified Broker Pricing Specialist
The BPO Institute trains agents in the proper way to provide Broker Price Opinions — which is used by bank asset managers, loss mitigators, and corporate relocation companies. A properly prepared BPO provides these out-of-area decision makers with a crystal-clear window into the local market so that they can price their properties fairly and accurately.
